The Idea
This project starts from the need to transform time, in something eternal. And to transform that iconic sound into a soundtrack. The ticking sound of Swatch watches, it has always been something unique. The mission was to make every detail, even the hidden ones, music.
The Process
Chiara's research began in the Swiss factories of Swatch, where she took all the little objects that made up the watch, from raw materials to the final products, and turned them into an incredible and playable musical instruments. The hands of the watch have become electric guitars. The worker's gloves have become a harp. Rhythmic and melodic parts were created from her recordings of factory machines.

The Soundtrack has also become a 3D sculpture present at the Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art. The 3D shape is made using each musical frequency of the soundtrack.
Sound–
track
The soundtrack is divided into 4 different moments. 1) an initial moment where the watches reveal themselves to the listener; 2) a second part where time seems to dissolve; 3) a third where Swatch factories bring energy back to the song; 4) a final part, where Eastern Influence, fundamental in the Swatch economic market, close the soundtrack with entrance and magnetism.
Sound
A meticulous work of sound design, with over 2440 sound samples. For each watch model, the characteristic sound was recorded through special microphones built by the Artist.
